Pakistan Concludes Special Hajj Flight Operation

Introduction:

Pakistan’s government has successfully concluded its special Hajj flight operation, which aimed to facilitate the journey of more than 61,000 local pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the annual Islamic pilgrimage. The operation, carried out by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), played a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and convenient experience for the pilgrims.

Facilitating the Pilgrimage:

Every year, the Pakistani government makes special arrangements to transport a large number of pilgrims between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia during the Hajj season. This initiative provides dedicated flights to make it easier for the pilgrims to perform their sacred journey.

Phases of the Operation:

The special Hajj flight operation was conducted in two phases. The first phase commenced on May 21 and continued until a few days before the start of the Hajj pilgrimage. The second phase began after the completion of the pilgrimage rituals.

PIA’s Commitment to Efficiency:

PIA, the country’s national airline, played a pivotal role in the successful execution of the operation. A total of 258 flights were operated as part of the post-Hajj operation, with 136 flights destined for Jeddah and 122 flights for Madinah.

Exemplary Punctuality:

PIA’s commitment to its schedule during the Hajj operation was commendable, with 96% of the flights departing on time or slightly ahead of schedule. This excellent performance outperformed other airlines involved in the Hajj operation.

Returning Home After a Spiritual Journey:

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of PIA, a total of 61,461 Hajj pilgrims safely returned to their homes after performing their religious duties in Saudi Arabia.

To further facilitate the pilgrims’ journey, they were provided with the convenience of checking in before arriving at the airport, streamlining their travel experience.
