Rickelton’s Century, Rabada’s Three Wickets Power South Africa to 107-Run Victory Over Afghanistan

Ryan Rickelton’s anchoring century and a strong all-round bowling performance helped South Africa secure a dominant 107-run victory over Afghanistan in the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 at the National Bank Stadium.

After being put in to bat, South Africa posted 315/6, with Rickelton scoring his maiden ODI century (103 off 106 balls). He was well supported by *Temba Bavuma (58 off 76), Rassie van der Dussen (52 off 46), and Aiden Markram (52 off 36)**. Mohammad Nabi was Afghanistan’s standout bowler, taking 2 for 51 in 10 overs.

In response, Afghanistan were bowled out for 208 in 43.3 overs. Despite a fighting 90 off 92 balls from Rahmat Shah, the team struggled against South Africa’s lethal bowling attack. Kagiso Rabada (3/39), Wiaan Mulder (2/36), and Lungi Ngidi (2/42) ensured Afghanistan never recovered.
