Faheem Ashraf Eyes National Team Spot Through Consistent PSL 10 Performances
Quetta Gladiators’ all-rounder Faheem Ashraf is determined to stay consistent in the ongoing HBL PSL 10 season and carry his form into international cricket for Pakistan.
In a recent interview, the 31-year-old shared insights about his transition from Islamabad United to Quetta Gladiators, emphasizing that his approach remains unchanged despite the franchise shift.
“It’s a new team, but my mindset remains the same — to help my side win matches and reach the final. The real goal is to maintain this performance for Pakistan as well,” Faheem stated.
PSL’s Role in Player Growth
Faheem also lauded the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for its transformative impact on local cricketers.
“PSL is Pakistan’s biggest brand and a globally recognized league. It’s not just about financial growth — it boosts careers too. While this season started with a slightly lower buzz, senior players are stepping up to re-energize the league,” he added.
Batting Focus in Modern T20s
With the game’s dynamics shifting, Faheem acknowledged the growing difficulty for bowlers in T20 cricket.
“T20 cricket has become tougher for bowlers, so I enjoy contributing with the bat more these days. It’s not just the IPL — our players are equally explosive,” he said, pointing out the competitive nature of PSL teams.
Quetta Gladiators in PSL 10: Mixed Start
Quetta Gladiators kicked off their PSL 10 campaign in style, registering a dominating win over Peshawar Zalmi by defending a massive 217-run total. They bowled out Babar Azam’s side for just 136 at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.
However, the momentum didn’t last, as the team stumbled against Lahore Qalandars, who posted 220 runs. Quetta managed just 140 in response.
The Gladiators’ next fixture is against Karachi Kings at the National Bank Stadium on April 18, a key clash that could help define their path forward in the tournament.
Final Thoughts
As the PSL 10 season heats up, Faheem Ashraf’s all-round capabilities could play a pivotal role in Quetta Gladiators’ campaign — and more importantly, position him for a strong return to Pakistan’s national team setup.
