In a bold reshuffle ahead of PSL 10, Karachi Kings have appointed Hasan Ali as the new vice-captain, replacing Shan Masood in a revamped leadership team that also features David Warner as captain.
The announcement came via the franchise’s official social media platforms, with a post that read:
“Hasan Ali proudly takes charge as the new Vice-Captain of Kings squad.”
The 30-year-old right-arm pacer is no stranger to leadership responsibilities. He previously captained Central Punjab to the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy title in 2020, showcasing tactical acumen alongside fiery bowling spells. In Warner’s absence, Hasan represented the franchise at the PSL 10 captains’ conference, further solidifying his role as a key leader in the squad.
A Proven Performer
Hasan Ali heads into PSL 10 with an impressive record of 108 wickets in 82 matches, averaging 22.96 with an economy rate of 8.03. He is now just six wickets behind all-time PSL leading wicket-taker Wahab Riaz (113).
He also holds the distinction of most wickets in a single PSL season, having taken 25 wickets in just 13 matches during PSL 4 while playing for Peshawar Zalmi.
Karachi Kings’ New Era
This marks the second major leadership change for the Kings ahead of the season, with David Warner stepping in as captain in his debut PSL campaign, replacing Shan Masood. Warner’s international experience, paired with Hasan’s local and franchise-level leadership, presents a formidable combo as Karachi Kings aim for a fresh start.
