Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan held a press conference ahead of the highly anticipated ICC Champions Trophy 2025, urging the nation to celebrate the return of the prestigious tournament to Pakistan after 29 years.
Rizwan Reflects on Team Preparations
Rizwan highlighted the team’s resilience, stating that despite facing major challenges over the years, Pakistan has consistently managed to overcome obstacles and perform well on the international stage.
He also addressed concerns regarding pacer Haris Rauf’s availability for the tournament opener. While confirming that Rauf is in good form and steadily improving, Rizwan remained cautious about confirming his inclusion in the first match.
“Currently, Haris is fit and bowling well, but we will make our final decision based on the conditions,” Rizwan said.
Team Strategy and Senior Players’ Role
Rizwan reaffirmed that Babar Azam will continue to open, though the team remains flexible in making strategic adjustments based on match conditions. He also stressed the importance of minimizing errors, ensuring that opponents are not given any advantage.
“When the whole team works hard, and we win, it makes me proud,” Rizwan stated, emphasizing the collective effort required for success.
With Pakistan eager to defend their Champions Trophy title, Rizwan’s remarks reflect the team’s determination and passion as they prepare for the tournament.
