PCB Takes Legal Action Against Corbin Bosch Over PSL Contract Dispute
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has served a legal notice to South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch, accusing him of breaching his PSL 2025 contract, the board announced on Sunday.
Bosch’s PSL Commitments & Possible IPL Move
- Bosch, 30, was picked in the Diamond category by Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL 2025 draft held in January.
- He was expected to be a key player for the franchise but is now reportedly considering withdrawing from the league.
- The reason? A possible IPL 2025 contract with Mumbai Indians, who are looking for a replacement for injured pacer Lizaad Williams.
PCB’s Official Statement
The PCB confirmed the legal action, stating:
“South Africa’s Corbin Bosch has been served a legal notice by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) alleging breach of the all-rounder’s contractual obligations to the PCB.
The legal notice was served through his agent, and the player has been asked to justify his actions of withdrawing from his professional and contractual commitments.
The PCB management has also outlined the repercussions of his departure from the league and expects his response within the stipulated time frame.”
The board added that no further comments will be made until Bosch responds.
Bosch’s IPL & T20 League Background
- Bosch has not played in the IPL yet but was previously a reserve player for Rajasthan Royals.
- He gained experience with MI Cape Town in the SA20 league, playing a key role in their title-winning campaign, where he took 11 wickets in seven innings at an economy rate of 8.68.
- If he joins Mumbai Indians, he will reunite with Ryan Rickelton and provide an extra seam-bowling all-rounder option alongside Hardik Pandya and Raj Bawa.
What’s Next?
With the IPL 2025 season set to begin on March 22, Bosch must decide between honoring his PSL contract or pursuing a lucrative opportunity with Mumbai Indians.
Will he face penalties from the PCB, or will he opt for an IPL future?
