The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is ready to shine as one of the host venues for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, hosting three key matches featuring Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand. With the tournament set to begin on February 19, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that major renovations are nearing completion, promising an enhanced experience for players and spectators alike.

Renovation Highlights

The upgrades to the stadium include:

  • Giant Screen: Offering fans live action and replays like never before.
  • 12,000 New Seats: Ensuring comfort and accommodating more cricket enthusiasts.
  • Upgraded Floodlights: Meeting international standards for night matches.
  • Revamped Hospitality Boxes: Delivering a luxurious experience for VIP guests.

These enhancements position Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium as a premier venue for international cricket, with a seating capacity of 15,000. Alongside Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium and Karachi’s National Stadium, Rawalpindi will showcase Pakistan’s cricketing infrastructure, while India’s matches are set to be played in Dubai under the hybrid hosting model.

Scheduled Matches at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium

Fans can look forward to the following group stage fixtures at the stadium:

  • February 24: Bangladesh vs. New Zealand – 2:00 PM PST
  • February 25: Australia vs. South Africa – 2:00 PM PST
  • February 27: Pakistan vs. Bangladesh – 2:00 PM PST

PCB Chairman’s Inspection

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi recently visited the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium to review the renovations. He inspected improvements to the main pavilion, media boxes, and VIP enclosures, expressing satisfaction with the progress.

Naqvi stated that preparations for hosting the first ICC tournament in Pakistan since 1996 are well on track. The PCB is also prioritizing security to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for players and fans during the event.

With these developments, Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is set to deliver a memorable experience in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
