A Historic Milestone for Sajid Khan
Sajid Khan has solidified his place in Pakistan cricket history by becoming the third-fastest Pakistani bowler to reach 50 Test wickets, achieving this remarkable milestone in just his 11th Test match.
This achievement places Sajid alongside some of the country’s finest bowlers. The record for the fastest Pakistani to 50 wickets is held by Yasir Shah, who accomplished the feat in only nine matches. Meanwhile, legendary names such as Waqar Younis, Shabbir Ahmed, Mohammad Asif, and Mohammad Abbas share the second spot.
Sajid’s consistent performances have cemented his position as a key figure in Pakistan’s bowling lineup. His recent heroics during the Multan Test showcased his prowess, where he registered figures of 5-50 and an impressive match haul of 9-115.
Pakistan Triumphs Over West Indies in Multan
Pakistan secured a commanding 127-run victory over the West Indies in the first Test of the two-match series, taking an early 1-0 lead.
Chasing a target of 251, the West Indies struggled against Pakistan’s bowling attack. Sajid Khan gave the hosts a perfect start, dismissing the visiting skipper Kraigg Brathwaite for just 12 runs, reducing the West Indies to 16/1 in 4.2 overs.
Sajid continued to wreak havoc, removing Keacy Carty for six and Kavem Hodge for a duck. Mikyle Louis also fell to Sajid after scoring just 13, while Noman Ali chipped in by dismissing Greaves for nine.
Despite a 41-run stand between Athanaze and Imlach, the visitors continued to collapse. Abrar Ahmed delivered crucial blows, dismissing Imlach, Sinclair, and Gudakesh Motie (for a golden duck).
Sajid wrapped up his memorable performance by taking his fifth wicket, removing Alick Athanaze, who fought valiantly with a score of 55. Abrar sealed the victory by dismissing the last batter, bowling out the West Indies for 123 runs.
A Memorable Test for Both Teams
While Sajid and Abrar led Pakistan to a comfortable win, West Indies spinner Jomel Warrican made headlines with his career-best figures of 7/32, bundling Pakistan out for 157 on day three.
However, Pakistan’s bowling attack proved too strong for the visitors, and Sajid’s brilliance stood out as the defining factor in the match.
