Saudi Arabia Targets Vinícius Júnior in a Historic Transfer Bid
Saudi Arabia is reportedly preparing to make football history with a record-breaking bid for Real Madrid’s Brazilian sensation, Vinícius Júnior, in the upcoming summer transfer window.
According to AS, Saudi clubs are ready to offer over £261 million (€300 million) to secure the 23-year-old forward, surpassing Neymar’s world-record transfer fee of £193 million (€222 million) from Barcelona to PSG in 2017.
A Jaw-Dropping Salary Proposal
In addition to the massive transfer fee, the proposed deal includes a staggering five-year contract worth £173 million (€200 million) per season, tax-free. This would total an eye-watering £865 million (€1 billion) over the contract’s duration, making it the most lucrative deal in football history.
While no formal discussions have taken place yet, Saudi Arabia is reportedly gearing up for an unprecedented offer.
Al Hilal and Al Ahli in the Race
The Saudi Pro League’s aggressive recruitment strategy has already attracted global superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and Neymar. Now, they are setting their sights on Vinícius Júnior.
Among the potential suitors, Al Hilal appears to be the frontrunner. Having parted ways with Neymar due to his expected return to Brazil, the Riyadh-based club is eager to fill the void with another Brazilian superstar.
Al Ahli from Jeddah has also shown interest in Vinícius in the past. While Real Madrid refused to negotiate last summer, reports suggest that the Brazilian winger was open to hearing details about the offer.

Madrid is also working on extending his contract, which currently runs until 2027, and offering him a salary increase.
For now, Vinícius remains happy at Real Madrid and is not actively seeking a move. The Brazilian star has been in exceptional form, scoring 17 goals in 27 appearances across all competitions this season.
